David Bird: Thanks Ellie - I find that camera to be better than a DSLR for these types of shots, as it is smaller and does not seem to intimidate the insects so much!

The eyes look alien. Nice photo. My guess is you didn't have a lot of time to frame and capture this one. At least, I haven't seen a dragonfly or dameslfly stay in one place too long.
David Bird: Thanks Clint - you're right, they don't stay long. I'm lucky there is a National Trust garden close to where I live which has a healthy population of dragonflies & damselflies. I missed the dragonflies this year (they tend to emerge in August / September) but managed to catch the damselflies who appear a little earlier.
It seems ready to go... a very agressive attitude here but how lovely. Colours are splendid and well detailled. A real good macro !
